At Saga Care at Home, we’re excited to support this campaign set up by the Hertfordshire Care Providers Association. We believe care is best when it’s at home, and that simply wouldn’t be possible without the dedicated work of our team of live-in and visiting carers.
What’s it all about?
Hertfordshire’s Good Care Month was in part set up to address the rising demand for carers across the county and indeed the country. In Hertfordshire alone, 4000 new carers need to be recruited every year to meet the need for home care services. With an ageing population, that need is only set to grow.
Good Care Month aims to raise awareness about the essential work carers do to ensure that older people in our society can continue to live fulfilling and meaningful lives, maintaining their independence for as long as possible. As stories spread about the inspirational work of carers across the county, the hope is that more people will be drawn to a career in care.
To find out what’s happening in your local area to support Good Care Month, all you need to do is follow the hashtags #WeCare and #HertsGoodCare on social media. Share, like and comment on the posts and events to help spread the word. You may find that you get inspired by care work.
